For all of us who are Atlanta residents or fans, we know that ATL never disappoints. There is ALWAYS something to do in the city, or in the neighboring suburbs. During Memorial Day weekend, Atlanta is jam-packed with activities and festivals for the whole family to enjoy! Do not let your three-day weekend go to waste. Don’t forget the real reason for Memorial Day! Do something to honor the many men and women who have fought for our country. Let me show you some interesting destinations that you should mark on your calendar!
2. Stone Mountain Park’s Memorial Day Weekend Show
Stone Mountain Park, located northeast of Downtown Atlanta, will be having shows filled with cool lasers and bright fireworks to salute our many troops for FOUR nights in a row! If you miss out on Friday’s show, you still have until the 29th to enjoy the fun-filled night! This is an event that the whole family can attend. If you want to get active at the park, there will be a Veterans 5K/1K Walk & Run on Sunday at 7:00 a.m. Be sure to register at the Triangle Parking lot.
6. Memorial Day Ceremony
The city of Smyrna will be hosting a Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday starting at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony will be at the Twentieth Century Veterans Memorial site. Come out and honor our troops! You can even purchase a permanent marble or brick paver that can be placed on site in remembrance of someone in your life who has served our country. You can find more purchase details online.
